We got a chance to do a spring time wedding at the Granite Rose in Hampstead NH yesterday (05-01-2010) so we took a few photos of the grounds and inside the Terrace Room. The grounds are enjoyable, the brick walkway paths and the natural wooden deck gives the Granite Rose a romantic feel. It was nice to park outside and ride up the elevator so the car was always close by. Inside the Terrace room there is the famous huge chandelier which has a lot of history. We took a few close ups of the detail. More photos from Erica and Adams wedding will follow shortly.

Normally I’ll only add 9 photos to a blog post but I just had fun with this being that we had an unbelievable warm and sunny day in April. Katie and Dan are a creative and very happy family. Their wild wedding was a statement of not only their originality but also of their close family and friendships. Entertainment provided by Joey Dion at Main Event Entertainment. Castleton of Windham was the location for both the ceremony and reception.

Heather and Ken actually had their FIRST marriage earlier this year as a destination wedding at St. Thomas Island. They arranged a “redo” for their friends and loved ones back here at Radisson Chelmsford hotel. The hotel was ok, they had a nice staircase but wanted us to photograph the wedding party in the “photo room” but we insisted that the staircase would be a little better for a photo location. Paster Heilman of Nashua performed a fun and absolutely unique ceremony with great humor and emotion that everyone could feel. Albin from Main Event DJ and Entertainment kept the evening electric as most people enjoyed the dance floor.

This is the same Deanna and Dave that did their wedding in Hawaii. They did a second ceremony and reception at Zorvino’s Vineyards. They did a slight Hawaiian theme so I wore my new Hawaiian shirt! I also set up a slideshow during their reception so guests could see pictures from Hawaii. Joey Dion from Main Event DJ Entertainment was there making the party happen. I also worked with Precious Moments Video company, always a pleasure.

It was such an honor to be a part of Deanna and Dave’s wedding. Not only did I get to go to Waikiki Hawaii but I got to go with amazing people. Everyone knows and loves Susanne Cutuli from Susanne’s Weddings, it’s an exclusive wedding floral shop in Hampstead NH across the street from The Granite Rose function facility. The wedding was for her daughter Deanna and wow, we had an incredible time.
We did an engagement session on the beach, a bachelor / bachelorette party in the city, an authentic Hawaiian Luau on New Years Eve then finally the ceremony on the beach on the first day of 2010.
One of the really neat things that caught my attention was the Blue Moon in Hawaii on New Years Eve. I was photographing the night time part of the Luau by adjusting the kelvin temperature color balance to around 2500k to match the incandescent lighting of the stage spotlights. Incandescent is naturally much cooler than direct sunlight which is around 5200k so when the sun reflected off the full moon, it actually appeared to look blue! Once in a blue moon!
I took the second to last photo at the Shorebird Restaurant. It’s my new happy place.
Dee and Dave will be having a reception a month after back here in New Hampshire at Zorvino Vineyards.

Honestly one of the warmest and lovable couples you could ever meet. Julie is so funny… “I LOVE ME!” she says out loud. We all went to Boston Public Gardens earlier in the year to do an engagement session, it was a blast. They were actually slated to have their wedding reception at The (infamous) Georgetown Country Club. Well, the “slate” crubled only weeks before their wedding leaving them high and dry for a reception location.
I don’t know how she was able to do it but Donna from Castleton Banquet and Convention Center stepped up to help them out last minute. Their reception was saved and they were able to enjoy themselves afterall. Check out that sunset!

Erin and Ray exchanged vows Saint Anne Church in Hampstead, NH. Traditional Scottish Kilts were worn by the wedding party and they had a bagpiper escort them down the aisle. From there, Rich from Grace Limousine Company drove us to Searles Castle in Windham, NH where Tommy Demers from Get Down Tonight Entertainment provided a fun and exciting reception evening.

Alexis and Frank had a beautiful wedding at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem MA. Their nighttime wedding allowed us to get many awesome shot in the park across the street from the hotel. their wedding was fun and the dance floor was crowed all night with great music. One unique thing that they did for their wedding was having the bridesmaid carry candle vases with a flame less candle in it instead of a bouquet.

Special hardly describes the extraordinary wedding event held to unite Jenna and Tommy. It was quite an honor for us to have someone like Jenna choose us to photograph her weddding as she is a Wedding Coordinator for The Granite Rose herself. Jenna has seen many many weddings performed and has organized many receptions. She was so surprised to see just how fast these events actually go by for the bride. When people tell you that your wedding day will be a blur, believe it.
It can be hard to predict weather in October so it was a blessing that we got such a beautiful day. The sun hit that colorful Granite Rose foliage and lit up the grounds. Justice of the Peace William E. Beane (603) 329-6103, was the officiant for the ceremony. Susanne from Susanne’s Weddings adorned the Embassy landscape with rose pedals and flowers that lined the aisle.
For the reception, Jenna had what is called “Stations” for dinner service. This allows for guests to walk server tables that are placed around the reception hall for different types of entrees and sides. It was creative and delicious!
Craig from iWed Video (formerly known as 321 Digital Video) joined me as we took full advantage of the beautiful grounds at the Granite Rose and the gorgeous weather.

We had a wonderful adventure with Lisa and Jim at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonboro, NH. From up there in the “clouds” we had sweeping views of Lake Winnipesaukee. The sun shined down during the ceremony and the weather was so nice.
